Armyworms skeletonize turfgrass leaves or chew off young leaves just above the ground, causing widespread damage of irregular brown patches.
Gray snow mold appears as patches of matted, tan-colored grass, visible after snow melt.
Necrotic ring spot causes dead patches of turf that may regrow in the centers.
Chinch bug feeding can cause large, dead patches.
